Here are some of the key safety features available in the new 2019 Chevy Colorado.
• The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado comes with six standard airbags including frontal airbags for the driver and front seat head-curtain side airbags for outboard passengers in all rows. There are also seat-mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger.
• It has standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation technology, trailer sway control, and hill-start assist. The stability tracking system automatically senses when the vehicle exceeds its handling limits and reduces engine power or applies selected brakes to prevent the driver from losing control of the vehicle.
• The antilock braking system is also standard in the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado.
• It also comes with seatbelt pretensioners which automatically tighten seatbelts to place the passenger in the optimal seating position in case of a collision.
• Another interesting safety feature that has been made standard on trims of Colorado is the Teen Driver System. This system can mute the audio system until both front occupants have fastened their seatbelts. The system also allows parents to set speed warnings, limit audio volume, and set an 85-mph top speed; it also activates all safety settings like stability control, traction control, or automatic lighting and does not allow the driver to turn them off.
• Rear Vision Camera is standard, with HD view on LT, Z71, and ZR2. The safety package on LT models includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Park Assist
