Comparing the 2020 Cadillac SUV to the 2019 Cadillac SUV

An SUV from Cadillac is a great way to step into the world of luxury vehicles, especially if you are looking for a car designed to turn heads in Myrtle Beach. The 2020 Cadillac XT5 is one of the most talked-about SUVs from the luxury automakers this year, especially as it's coming in with upgrades and changes from its 2019 predecessor.

So if you live in Myrtle Beach and are wondering whether you should test drive a 2020 or 2019 Cadillac SUV, then visit one of the many South Carolina Chevy dealers to find out everything you need to about the makes and models from Cadillac.

What are the main differences between the 2020 and 2019 Cadillac XT5 SUVs?

The 2019 Cadillac XT5 had already garnered a name for itself thanks to the luxurious interior and exterior styling, alongside its use of a 3.6-liter V6 engine that gave the SUV's 310 Horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. However, the one drawback that this engine brought with it last year came in the form of reduced fuel economy. You would get an MPG of 24 within city limits and 30 on highways.

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 seeks to amend that by making the 3.6-liter V6 engine optional on its Premium Luxury Trim Level, and standard on its top of the range Sport trim level. The base Luxury level instead uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that gives you an MPG of 18 within city limits and 26 on highways. This comes at the expense of its horsepower, however, as the 2.0-liter engine gives it a Horsepower of 237 and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 is also more expensive than the 2019 version, despite having three trim levels against 2019's five. It starts at $44,095 and costs almost $4000 more than the base 2019 XT5 model. However, you get additional features such as LED headlights that are now standard across all trim levels, a nine-speed automatic transmission, a control knob that makes using the infotainment system much easier, and standard availability of Android Auto or Apple Car Play across all trim levels. While the 2019 Cadillac XT5 was already known for its wide array of amazing safety features, the 2020 XT5 makes improvements across its different trim levels, making every car prioritize the safety of its passengers.

Both the Cadillac XT5 2019 and 2020 are great mid-sized SUV's that have room for five passengers, look and feel luxurious, and are a pleasure to drive. The enhanced features in the 2020 models make it a better investment, however, especially if you consider fuel economy to be important.
